With the San Jose Sharks losing in regulation to the Anaheim Ducks by a 3-1 score on Wednesday night, the Nashville Predators have officially clinched their seventh playoff berth in the past eight seasons.
Nashville will look to build on last year's playoff run. The Predators were eliminated in the second round of the playoffs by the Vancouver Canucks, but they did defeat the Anaheim Ducks in the first round to capture their first playoff series victory in franchise history.
Now that the Predators will officially be in the playoffs, they will focus their attention on trying to pass the Detroit Red Wings for the fourth seed in the Western Conference, which would give them home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs.
The Predators have five games remaining in the regular season before they gear up for the playoff push. The last game of the regular season for Nashville will be on April 7th in Colorado.
