The Nashville Predators will take on the Philadelphia Flyers for the second time this season tonight at Wells Fargo Center. Nashville was able to get a 4-2 victory over Philadelphia on January 14 at Bridgestone Arena.
Nashville is coming off a dramatic 5-4 come-from-behind win over the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night. The Predators were completely dominated throughout the first two periods by the Wild, but found a way to come back in the third period for an improbable win.
Philadelphia also played on Tuesday night, losing to the Winnipeg Jets in a shootout by a 2-1 score. Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 23 out of 24 shots in regulation, and he's expected to get the start against the Predators tonight.
In what is a surprising move to many, Anders Lindback is expected to get the start in goal for the Predators tonight. In his last outing, Lindback played a solid game against the New York Rangers in a 3-0 loss. A win against the Flyers tonight would be great for his confidence.
It looks like Francis Bouillon and Jerred Smithson will both be available for tonight's game in Philadelphia according to Josh Cooper of The Tennessean. It will be interesting to see who the scratches are for tonight's game.
My player to watch for the Flyers is Claude Giroux. Giroux hasn't scored a goal in his last 12 games, but is second in the NHL in points behind Evgeni Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
For Nashville, my player to watch is Mike Fisher. Fisher has been on fire as of late, scoring five goals in his last three games. If he's able to continue to provide consistent scoring, the Predators will have a good chance to continue their hot streak.
