Preds hope to solve Stars in Dallas

The Nashville Predators will take on the Dallas Stars on Sunday night for the third time in the 2011-2012 season. Dallas has dominated the Predators so far this year, winning the first two meetings by a combined 10-4 score.

Nashville is coming off of a heartbreaking loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Friday night. The Predators have posted a 3-3-2 record since the All-Star break. They will look to get back to their winning ways on Sunday.

Dallas played on Saturday night against the Phoenix Coyotes in Glendale, Arizona. The Coyotes were able to defeat the Stars by a 2-1 score in overtime. The Stars currently sit in 10th place in the Western Conference with 62 points, while the Predators find themselves in the fifth spot with 72 points.

The Predators are only three points ahead of the Chicago Blackhawks and trail the St. Louis Blues by seven points in the standings. This game is a pretty big game for both of these teams.

My player to watch for the Stars is Loui Eriksson. He is an extremely creative player with the puck and has 49 points on the season so far. Eriksson doesn't get the credit that he deserves, but he's a really good hockey player for the Stars.

For Nashville, my player to watch is Hal Gill. Gill is expected to make his Predator debut against the Stars, and it will be interesting to see where he is placed in the lineup. Who will the Predators sit in order to make room for Gill?
