Weber breaks personal record but falls to Chara once again

Nashville Predators captain Shea Weber set a personal record in the 2012 Hardest Shot competition in Ottawa when he unleashed a 106 mph slapshot. He was thwarted, once again, by Zdeno Chara of the Boston Bruins. Chara released an incredible 108.8 mph shot that shattered the old record of 105.9 that he set last year.

Chara vs. Weber in the Hardest shot competition is one of the most anticipated events of the All-Star weekend. Their shots keep getting harder every year, and it is a real treat for the fans to watch.

The All-Star game itself will start at 3 p.m. central on Sunday on the NBC Sports Network.
