After Tuesday night's 4-1 loss to the Washington Capitals, the Nashville Predators will look to bounce back tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Nashville came out on top in a dramatic comeback victory over the Blue Jackets two weeks ago, which sparked a five-game winning streak. Tonight's game will mark the fourth meeting of the season between these two Central Division foes.
The last time that these two teams met at Bridgestone Arena on November 19, the Blue Jackets got their first victory in Nashville since 2006. They will be looking to win two games in a row in Bridgestone Arena for the first time in the history of their franchise.
This will be the front end of a back-to-back set for the Predators. They will square off with the Dallas Stars on Friday night in the Lone star state.
Columbus is coming off of a 6-4 loss to the St. Louis Blues on Sunday. Steve Mason allowed five goals in that game, and St. Louis added an empty-net goal to put the game away. Expect Curtis Sanford to get the start in net tonight for the Blue Jackets.
Games between these two clubs almost always are one goal games, and tonight figures to be no different. The Predators are going to want revenge for the last game between these two teams at Bridgestone Arena, and the Blue Jackets are going to want revenge for Nashville's comeback victory two weeks ago. It should be an interesting contest.
My player to watch for the Blue Jackets is Curtis Sanford. Look for him to see a lot of action tonight. Nashville will try to come out firing because of the lack of offensive production on Tuesday night against the Capitals.
For Nashville, my player to watch is Colin Wilson. Wilson has played some of the best hockey of his career so far this season, and the Predators will need him to continue to produce moving forward.
