The Nashville Predators have been playing pretty decent hockey of late, but haven't been getting the desired result on the scoreboard. Tonight, they will try to change that in a critical game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Nashville is coming off of a 3-2 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes on Tuesday night at Bridgestone Arena. They played a pretty solid game against the Coyotes and had lots of chances to win the game.
Columbus has been on a 5-3-1 since their overtime win in Nashville on November 19. The Blue Jackets had a horrendous start to the year, but have been playing much better hockey as of late. They defeated the Montreal Canadiens on the road on Tuesday night by a 3-2 score.
This will be the third meeting between these two teams so far this season. Nashville has been historically dominant over Columbus, but it seems as if almost every game between these two teams is decided by one goal. Look for the same sort of thing in tonight's game.
My player to watch for the Blue Jackets is James Wisniewski. Wisniewski scored the game-winning goal for the Blue Jackets the last last time these two teams met, and is a legitimate offensive threat from the blue line. Nashville will have to be aware of that and try to limit his shot opportunities.
For Nashville, my player to watch is Francis Bouillon. Bouillon will make his return to the lineup tonight after suffering a groin injury. The defense was much better with Bouillon in the lineup, so his return should be a welcome sight for the Predators.
Puck drop is at 6 p.m. central time.
