Preds shut out for first time this season in Calgary

The Calgary Flames defeated the Nashville Predators by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday night. Derek Smith got the lone goal in this game for the Flames late in the first period.

Nashville passed up quality shots on several occasions in this game, and it ended up costing them. This game was the first time this season that the Predators have been shut out, which is pretty impressive when you consider that they don't have any major goal scorers.

Pekka Rinne and Miikka Kiprusoff both had fantastic games for their respective teams. Rinne stopped 28 out of 29 shots for the Predators, and Kiprusoff stopped all 26 shots that he faced.

Nashville will take on the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night in a rematch of last year's second round playoff matchup. The Canucks got the better of Nashville in their first meeting this year, and got the 5-1 victory at Rogers Arena.
