Preds get out-worked by Red Wings; Lose again

The Detroit Red Wings dominated the Nashville Predators on Saturday night, and defeated them by a score of 4-1. Detroit put 37 shots on goal against Pekka Rinne, while Nashville was only able to get 19 shots on Jimmy Howard.

With the loss, the Predators have now dropped three consecutive games in regulation. Nashville also lost to the Columbus Blue Jackets four games ago in overtime. The Predators are now 10-8-4 on the year.

Valterri Filppula scored two goals for the Red Wings in this game, and added an assist on a goal scored by Henrik Zetterberg. Dan Cleary got the final goal for the Red Wings early in the third period. Jack Hillen scored the lone goal for the Predators.

Nashville defenseman Francis Bouillon left the game with a lower body injury, and did not return to action. Detroit's Patrick Eaves was hit in the right ear on a one-timer by Nashville rookie defenseman Roman Josi in the third period. Eaves had to be taken off on a stretcher after the incident.

Nashville will have a chance to take revenge on Monday night against an Edmonton Oilers team that ran them out of their own building last Tuesday night. The Predators will have to play much better on Monday night if they hope to have any chance of beating the Oilers.
