The Nashville Predators have a game tonight against the Atlanta Thrashers, but there is also another game that Pred Nation is going to be paying a lot of attention to.
Columbus heads into Dallas tonight for a critical game. If Nashville is able to win their game tonight against the Thrashers, they could possibly clinch a playoff berth if Dallas were to lose. Even an overtime loss for the Stars and a win for the Preds would clinch a playoff berth for Nashville.
Both Dallas and Columbus are 2-5-3 in their last 10 games. Columbus has lost their last three games, and Dallas is coming off of a 4-3 victory over the Anaheim Ducks in a wild game.
The Stars currently have 89 points with four games remaining in their regular season. While their postseason hopes are not extremely high, they still have the chance to make it. It's probably going to require them to win each of their four remaining games, which would mean that Nashville would need to collect 3 points in their last three games in order to clinch a playoff spot.
The puck drops in Dallas at 7:30 P.M. tonight. That means the game will probably be over around 30 minutes after the conclusion of the Predators game(I know. Math whiz.). Of course, the outcome of the Dallas game won't have as much significance if the Predators don't take care of business against Atlanta. It's going to be an interesting night in the Western Conference for sure.
