Preds Face Pesky Flames

The Nashville Predators will take on the Calgary Flames on Sunday night at 7:00 in Calgary. The Preds have yet to beat the Flames this year, and Pekka Rinne hasn't beaten the Flames yet in his career. This is an extremely important game for the Predators.

My Calgary Flame to watch for this game is Jarome Iginla. Iginla always plays extremely well against the Predators, and has really been heating up as the year has progressed. The Flames play as Iginla plays. If he's on, the Flames are an extremely difficult team to beat. If he's not, they're an average hockey team.

My Nashville Predator to watch in this game is Shea Weber. Weber has been playing extremely good hockey lately(minus the bullrush he had into the stationary net in Edmonton). Weber is the captain of a team that is fighting for a playoff spot in the mega-tight Western Conference. He leads by example, and now is the perfect time to do that. I expect him to have a big game defensively and offensively.

Mikka Kiprusoff and Pekka Rinne will once again go to battle against each other. Kiprusoff has gotten the better of Rinne so far this year, but I expect this game to be an extremely tight defensive game. Two is the magic number in this game. Whoever gets two goals is going to win this game.

Prediction: The Preds have to win this game, and I think they will. However, I don't think it will be in regulation. I think the Preds will escape with a 2-1 shootout victory.
