The Nashville Predators will open their four game homestand on Tuesday night against an Edmonton team that has given them all sorts of trouble this year. So far this season, Edmonton has a 2-0-1 record against the Predators. The Oilers are dead last in the entire NHL, but are a very tough team for Nashville to play against.
You can bet that the Oilers are going to be ready to go for this game. Former Predator Ryan Jones tweeted "Morning! Thanks to everyone who came out yesterday..got to meet a bunch of my tweeples. Heading 2 Nash to steal a couple pts from the Preds". Games between Edmonton and Nashville are always special to Ryan Jones. After all, the Predators put him on waivers, so he will be looking for a chance to get on the scoresheet each and every time he plays Nashville. Tuesday night will be no different. Edmonton has just 56 points and have lost 6 games in a row coming into Tuesday night's game. They have just 11 wins on the road all year, which is the fewest in the NHL. One of the 11 road wins came in a 4-0 shutout effort against Nashville on February 7th.
Nashville is coming into this game winners of their last three games, and have gone 6-2-2 in their last 10 games. The comeback victory against Buffalo on Sunday will almost definitely give the Predators a boost. It was one of the best moments of the 2010-2011 season for the Predators so far. The Preds have got to get two points against the Oilers, especially given that there is only nine games remaining for them. Each point is important, and they need to be capitalized on when playing teams like Edmonton who are already eliminated from postseason contention.
The puck will drop at 7:00 P.M. and the game will be televised on FS-Tennessee. Nashville is 3-4-5 in games played on Tuesdays this season. They will look to make that 4-4-5 against Edmonton.
