We all know that the Preds haven't been playing very well at all lately. But, ladies and gentlemen, I have positive news for you!
The attendance so far this year for the Preds has been pretty good. In fact, the Preds are currently ranked 19th in the league in attendance. So far, we've had 4 sellouts in 9 home games. That's a pretty good start to the year! Nashville's average attendance at a home game is 16,388 according to ESPN.com. The arena is, on average, filled to 95.8% capacity for home games, which really kind of shuts up all of the idiotic Canadian press.
Tampa Bay, Carolina, Florida, New Jersey, Anaheim, Colorado, Dallas, Columbus, Atlanta, Long Island, and Pheonix. What do all of these places have in common? They're all below Nashville in attendance. Yes, I did say New Jersey, Colorado, and Long Island. They're not you're southern hockey teams. This proves that hockey can be played anywhere, and that it really should be played everywhere.
Of course, if the Preds keep on their current pace, it is very likely that the attendance will probably show a little drop. I'm not expecting anything major, and by no means am I saying they can't get out of the hole they're in because they can, but they need to start doing it now. I've already expressed my views on the coaching staff. I'm just glad to know that the city of Nashville is taking this team to heart, and supporting them like they should be.
