Preds Have Successful Weekend;Sweep the Weekend

The Nashville Predators had as good of a weekend that you can ask from them. They got two out of two wins. On Saturday night, they defeated the Dallas Stars by a 1-0 score in a shut-out performance by Pekka Rinne. They followed that up, after arriving in Tampa at 3 in the morning, with a 4-3 victory against the high-powered Tampa Bay Lightning. Here are some key points from this weekend:

Both goaltenders were stellar this weekend. Pekka Rinne made 30 saves in his shut-out performance, and Anders Lindback stopped 42 shots against the Lightning, including a couple of breakaways against Vinny Lecavalier. Great goaltending this weekend by the Predators. The Preds were outshot 45 to 26 against the Lightning.

Shea Weber knotted his first goal of his captaincy on Sunday vs. Tampa Bay. It came against his former teammate Dan Ellis.

As of Sunday night, the Nashville Predators have the most points in the NHL and thus are in first place in the entire NHL. It's good to say that now but it would be better to say that at the end of the year!

After back to back games, the Preds are off until Thursday night. It's college night so it should be a pretty packed house! The Preds look to keep their point streak alive as the St. Louis Blues make their second trip to Nashville.
